Dual Angle Layouts – Introduction

VAL Angle

The angle to the VAL is found by measuring the angle formed between the VAL and the line from the PAP to the Pin locator.

The size of this angle determines how quickly the ball will transition from hook to roll. This is known as the second transition.

In the guidelines set down by Mr. Pinel, he recommends VAL angles be no less than 20° and no more than 70°.
