I love you, I swear

I wrote this song for Jennifer just before she moved to New Zealand in 2007.  I believe we had just had a week of miscommunications and misunderstandings, and I had finally decided that rather than let the words just continue to come out of my mouth as babble, I would write a song about what was going through my head at the time and send that to her instead.

If memory serves, we were working towards the goal of getting Jennifer to New Zealand as quickly as possible, which inevitably brings up financial stress.  In all the noise (arguments over money) the thing that seemed to be getting lost in transmission, was that behind all the complaints and whining, was concept that I loved her and just wanted the wait over.

Feel free to download this song to you computer. Bear in mind, that the quality of this track is not the best.  Also, the vocals are pretty sketchy in places as well.  Don’t be a hater…

I love you, I swear
Music and Lyrics by Kelly Te Huna

How do I say that I love you
When the words don’t come out right?
Tell me how do I say that I need you by my side?

When every word that I say
Only gets in the way
Of the things that I need you to hear
And what I’m trying to say
Is I love you, I swear

How do I say that I need you
More than words could ever say
Tell me what could I do just to show you
What I need you to see, what I’m trying to say

When every word that I say
Only gets in the way
Of the things that I need you to hear
And what I’m trying to say
Is I love you, I swear

And what I’m trying to say
Is I love you, I swear

And what I’m trying to say
Is I love you…
I love you, I swear…
